Gwendolyn Evans, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice in San Francisco, CA.  Along with her doctorate from UCLA, she also completed concentrations in Physiological Psychology and in Behavioral Medicine, and holds post-doctorate certification in Neuropsychology at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute. Dr. Evans is also a certified creativity and life coach.

As a psychotherapist, she integrates cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy with many transpersonal forms of mind-body healing, including Qigong, EMDR, Psych-K, neurolinguistic programming, past life hypnosis regression, and psychospiritual narrative therapy.

As a creativity coach, she applies principles of creativity not only to clients with artistic endeavors but also with people seeking to build meaningful lifestyles in the wake of chronic or debilitating health problems; to build a healthy lifestyle to counter addictions (i.e., weight, smoking, drugs); reinventing one’s self after major life transitions.

A Course In Miracles and the works of Marianne Williamson are at the heart of her philosophy of healing. And most recently, she has been exploring the field of quantum physics and its applications to mind-body healing, utilizing the principles embodied in work of Eckhart Tolle (The Power of Now) and Bruce Lipton, Ph.D. (The New Biology: Where Mind & Matter Meet).

A long-time practitioner of Transcendental Meditation, Siddha level, Dr. Evans has also been trained in medical hypnosis (UCLA), hypnotic regression (Brian Weiss, MD, author of Many Lives, Many Masters) and became a life coach after completing all of the Anthony Robbins courses and coach training through the GROW Institute.

Dr. Evans was greatly influenced by the work of master coach Thomas J.  Leonard (The Portable Coach) and earned a certificate in creativity coaching from Eric Maisel (Coaching The Artist Within).

She is currently focused on couples work (pre-nuptial, married, estranged, divorcing) and other dyadic relationships (i.e., parent to adult child, roommates, close friends, coworkers).  She has been an adjunct professor and clinical supervisor at John F. Kennedy University, Orinda, CA, and has presented numerous lectures on multicultural issues in psychotherapy.  As an African-American/Native American/Irish female, she embraces cultural diversity.
