Our Mission
Our mission is to provide students with a mentor-based, individualized, nonresident and self-paced alternative learning system, with a primary goal to produce competent professionals rooted in deep self-awareness, sensitive to multi-cultural and global issues, and committed to serving humanity.
Our History
International University of Professional Studies traces its philosophy back to 1964, when the elementary and secondary departments in Harvard's School of Education and the Union for Research and Experimentation in Higher Education decided to move into alternative and more innovative programs. In 1988, Pacific University of Hawaii, the forerunner of our present university was founded. In 1994, recognizing the worldwide interest in our programs we changed our name to International University of Professional Studies.
Our Faculty
Our faculty is not only highly qualified, they are in the forefront of effective, innovative processes such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Transpersonal Psychotherapy, Alternative and Complementary Health, Somatic-Energetic Therapies, Multimedia Learning Environments, Expressive Art Therapies, etc. We are inspired to assist all life in the mission of achieving its greatest potential.
